The fact that Mac sales showed healthy growth is irrelevant to most observers &#8212; it&#8217;s all about the iPhone, which went on sale over the last two days of the period in question. The company is thought to have sold 200,000-700,000 of the little beauties but will confirm the figure in its report, which <strong>Reuters<\/strong> should have <a href=\"http:\/\/stocks.us.reuters.com\/stocks\/overview.asp?symbol=AAPL.O\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>. If it&#8217;s not I&#8217;ll update the link to <strong>Bloomberg<\/strong> or some other source.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;ll offer some good iPhone news to counter claims a flaw in its web browser can lead to the phone <a href=\"http:\/\/appletimes.blogspot.com\/2007\/07\/researchers-hack-into-iphone-via-web.html\" target=\"_blank\">being hacked<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>UPDATE: <strong>AT&amp;T<\/strong> says it activated <a href=\"http:\/\/news.yahoo.com\/s\/ap\/20070724\/ap_on_hi_te\/apple_iphone;_ylt=AlpvhtGrAgofnnbCMbD2yckjtBAF\" target=\"_blank\">only 146,000 iPhones<\/a>. As the company is <strong>Apple&#8217;s<\/strong> exclusive carrier in the States, that does not bode well. The news wiped about $7bn off the tech firm&#8217;s share value.<\/p>\n<p>FINAL UPDATE: <strong>Apple<\/strong> says it sold <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/apps\/news?pid=20601087&amp;sid=ami1f_x4smyY&amp;refer=home\" target=\"_blank\">270,000 iPhones<\/a>. Hmm&#8230; I know there were activation problems but they weren&#8217;t on that sort of a scale. That said it&#8217;s possible a lot of people bought their phones but only activated them the day after the second quarter ended.
